Both Dr Jasvinder and Samantha Jugdev have undergone training to be able to offer acupuncture to our patients as part of your dental care. Not only do we offer this to our patients but we both use acupuncture in our personal lives as a testament to the benefits of this therapy.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a medical treatment originating from China thousands of years ago. Chinese practitioners found that from thorough examination of the patients they found points on the body that could be joined up and when fine needles were placed in these points the patients felt improvement in their symptoms. Acupuncture is becoming increasingly popular all over the world and is now used in Western medicine for a range of medical conditions. Research often shows that acupuncture, for some conditions, can be as effective as conventional treatments and often with fewer side effects.

How can acupuncture be used in dentistry?

Dental conditions that can be helped in dentistry are:
TMJ (jaw joint) problems and pain
Facial pain
Muscle spasm in the head and neck
Stress headaches and migraines
Sinusitis
Gagging
Dry mouth
Post-operative pain
Anxiety
